The Murovdag, a Handysize-class dry cargo vessel owned by Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company (ASCO), is sailing from the French port of Rouen to Cabedelo in Brazil.
The vessel is crossing the Atlantic Ocean on a voyage expected to take 15 days, according to ASCO.
The Murovdag has a deadweight capacity of approximately 38,000 tonnes, matching that of the Khojaly, the first Handysize-class vessel commissioned by ASCO in May 2024.
The ship is 179.9 meters long, 30 meters wide and has a hull depth of 15 meters, with a draft of 10.47 meters. It can reach a maximum speed of 15.7 knots. Its relatively shallow draft allows it to access ports with limited water depth.
Built in Japan in 2020, the Murovdag meets international environmental standards, features fuel-efficient performance and is equipped with modern safety systems.
Before its current voyage, the dry cargo vessel completed a 33-day journey from the Chilean port of Antofagasta to Antwerp in Belgium.
