Kazakhstan Launches New Online Marketplace, Aiming for Nationwide Expansion

A new domestic online marketplace, Teez, has launched operations in Karaganda, a central city in Kazakhstan’s Karaganda region. 

The platform, which offers next-day delivery, has already opened pick-up points in 24 cities across the country, The Caspian Post reports, citing the Kazakh government's website.

Kazakhstan’s Minister of Trade and Integration, Arman Shakkaliyev, visited Teez’s main warehouse. 

Linar Khusnullin, the platform’s co-founder, informed the minister that Teez currently operates 40 pick-up points, with plans to expand this network to 127. The marketplace offers a wide range of 50,000 product types, and its customer app has already been downloaded by 170,000 users.

Minister Shakkaliyev praised the rapid growth of e-commerce in Kazakhstan, noting a 20% increase in electronic trade volume from January to October 2024 compared to the same period in 2023. He emphasized Karaganda’s potential to become a major trade and logistics hub, not only for Kazakhstan but also for the broader Central Asian region, due to its strategic location and developed infrastructure.
