Uzbekistan's 2024 Trade Report: Precious Metal Exports Fall 3.5%, Fuel Imports Surge

The volume of fuel and lubricant supplies more than doubled, reaching $3.26 billion. Gas imports from Russia and Turkmenistan increased 2.4 times and amounted to $1.36 million. Expenditures on oil and oil products reached $1.66 billion (+33.3% year-on-year).

Since the beginning of the year, the volume of precious metal exports has surpassed $6.6 billion, marking a 3.5% decrease compared to the same period last year, according to the country's statistics agency, The Caspian Post reports citing Akipress.

In the structure of goods imports, engineering products are the leaders - $11.21 billion dollars (-4.2%). Export of cars and components reached $2.68 billion (-23.8%), electrical products - $1.65 billion (+22.2%), power generators - $917.8 million dollars (+29.9%), communications equipment - $866 million (+16.1%).

The second place is held by industrial goods - $4.96 billion (-3.2%). Imports of cast iron and steel amounted to $2.19 billion  (+5.6%), wood products - $327.8 million (+7%) and non-ferrous metals - $312.3 million (+11.4%).
