Iran has executed two men convicted of spying for Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency and providing sensitive military coordinates used in targeted strikes during the 2025 and 2026 hostilities, state media reported on Monday.

The executed individuals, identified as Omid Behzad and Pourya Safvat, were put to death early Monday morning after their sentences were confirmed by the Iranian Supreme Court, according to the Iranian Judiciary’s Mizan news agency.

Both men were accused of transmitting geographical data, photography, and operational intelligence regarding military and security facilities to Mossad officers and affiliated media channels, including the UK-based Persian-language broadcaster Iran International.

Judicial authorities stated that technical evidence gathered from the defendants' electronic devices revealed direct communication with intelligence handlers, who systematically categorised the transmitted data into military target banks.

"Using navigation software such as Google Maps, I located the coordinates of places on the map and sent them," Behzad reportedly stated during interrogation, according to court documents cited by state media.

Investigating officers alleged that Behzad maintained contact with Telegram administrators acting on behalf of Israeli intelligence, knowingly passing critical infrastructure locations for verification and operational planning.

The Judiciary's Media Centre further reported that Safvat captured and transmitted footage of active air defence systems and military encampments during recent escalation periods.

State security agencies stated that the pair were uncovered after intelligence analysts cross-referenced footage broadcast on foreign media channels with specific sites targeted in aerial bombardments. The Iranian Supreme Court reviewed the lower court ruling and upheld the death sentences, determining that the defendants acted with explicit intent to aid a foreign power during active conflict.
