Kazakhstan’s Central Election Commission (CEC) has announced the preliminary results of the Qurultay elections, with more than 9.35 million citizens casting their ballots.
CEC Chairman Nurlan Abdirov said 9,351,539 Kazakhstanis voted in the elections, putting preliminary voter turnout at 74.08%, Qazinform reports.
The Adilet Party secured the largest share of the vote, receiving 71.17%, or 6,528,948 ballots.
The other parties recorded the following results:
Nationwide Social Democratic Party - 5.11% (469,058 votes)
Auyl Party - 6.26% (574,621 votes)
Respublica Party - 5.56% (509,631 votes)
Ak Zhol Democratic Party - 5.21% (478,083 votes)
People’s Party of Kazakhstan - 3.11% (285,395 votes)
Baitaq Party - 1.07% (97,751 votes)
Meanwhile, 2.51% of voters selected the “Against all” option.
The Central Election Commission said the figures represent preliminary election results.
