SunExpress to Launch New Direct Flights From Türkiye's Izmir to Kazakhstan's Astana

Turkish airline SunExpress plans to launch regular flights between Izmir and Kazakhstan's capital Astana.

The new Izmir-Astana route will operate twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, using Boeing 737 aircraft, according to Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Transport.

SunExpress will also increase the frequency of its Almaty-Izmir flights from two to three times a week starting October 25.

The new services will expand direct air links between Kazakhstan and Türkiye, offering passengers additional travel options between the two countries.

The announcement comes shortly after Kazakhstan’s national carrier Air Astana confirmed plans to resume flights between Kazakhstan and Dubai, with services from Almaty restarting on October 1 and from Astana on October 2.
