The “Echo of Nomads” International Ethno-Song Festival has officially opened at the Cholpon-Ata hippodrome in Kyrgyzstan, bringing together performers from around the world as part of the VI World Nomad Games.
Held from September 1 to 4, the festival is one of the major cultural highlights of the Games, showcasing the rich musical traditions of different nations, Kazinform reports.
This year, 21 contestants from 20 countries across four continents are taking part, presenting a total of 42 performances. The program highlights musical heritage from Europe, Asia, America and Africa.
September 2 is dedicated to Ethno-Hit Day, when performers will present works inspired by their national heritage and traditional musical culture.
The following day, World Hit Day will bring a modern twist. Contestants will perform well-known international songs, reinterpreting them through their own national musical styles and creating a blend of nomadic traditions and contemporary music.
The festival will reach its climax on September 4 with the Grand Finale, followed by an awards ceremony and a major concert featuring Kyrgyz and international stars.
The event adds a strong cultural dimension to the World Nomad Games, offering audiences a rare opportunity to hear musical traditions from four continents on one stage.
