China Seeks to Import Cherries from Kyrgyzstan, Boosting Agricultural Trade

An online meeting was held between leading domestic suppliers of cherries and a potential importer from China, Guangzhou Jiangnan Food Supply Chain Co., Ltd, the press service of the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic said.

According to the ministry, the meeting was attended by suppliers of cherries from different regions, who presented their varieties, production volumes and capabilities, The Caspian Post reports, citing Kyrgyz media.

Representatives of the Chinese company shared information about the growing demand for fresh, high-quality fruits in China, which is caused by an expanding middle class and growing consumer interest in healthy eating.

The parties noted the prospects for exporting cherries to China. The demand for cherries in China is steadily growing, and consumers are increasingly paying attention to high-quality imported fruits. According to the Chinese side, the cherry ripening season in Kyrgyzstan (May-October) has every opportunity to cover China's demand for this product, the reportsaid.

The meeting also discussed logistics and chain requirements for cherry exports to China.

Representatives of Guangzhou Jiangnan Food Supply Chain Co., Ltd. emphasized the presence of a developed distribution network and experience in managing perishable goods, and informed that the most important requirement is to ensure efficient and reliable delivery of products.

Both sides expressed interest in continuing the negotiations.

Suppliers will provide the Chinese company with detailed product catalogs, prices and possible volumes, and the importer will begin to evaluate options and prepare trial deliveries.
