Turkmenistan, UNESCO Set to Develop Action Plan for 2025-2027

Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Mahri Bashimova held a meeting with Amir Piric, Director of the UNESCO Regional Office in Almaty.

During the meeting, both sides expressed satisfaction with the positive dynamics of cooperation between Turkmenistan and UNESCO, The Caspian Post reports, citing the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.

They discussed ongoing collaboration and the implementation of previously reached agreements. In particular, it was noted that, as part of the "Framework Agreement between the Government of Turkmenistan and UNESCO on the establishment of a trust fund," Turkmenistan had transferred the necessary funds to UNESCO's account to support joint projects in environmental protection, cultural heritage preservation, and restoration of historical sites.

The two parties also agreed to continue working on the development of the Country Action Plan for the period 2025-2027 between the Government of Turkmenistan and UNESCO.
