Tanzila Narbayeva, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, met with Mohamed Irki, the Ambassador of Algeria to Uzbekistan, to discuss expanding cooperation between the two nations.
The discussions focused on enhancing collaboration in the socio-political and trade-economic spheres, with a special emphasis on developing joint initiatives to strengthen the mutually beneficial partnership, The Caspian Post reports, citing Uzbek media.
The parties noted the importance of scientific cooperation, especially in education. The possibility of implementing joint research projects devoted to studying the history and cultural heritage of Islam was considered.
Special attention was paid to strengthening inter-parliamentary ties. The need to intensify the work of friendship groups to create an effective platform for interaction between the two countries" parliaments was emphasized.
The parties expressed their readiness to develop bilateral cooperation and implement the planned initiatives.
