Türkiye’s HAVELSAN Reaches Deal to Produce HAMZA-1 Drones in Egypt

Turkish defense company HAVELSAN has reached a new agreement with Egypt’s Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI) to establish production of HAMZA-1 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in Egypt.

The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the El Alamein International Airshow 2026 in Egypt’s El Alamein, according to SavunmaSanayiST.com.

The deal builds on a strategic cooperation agreement signed by HAVELSAN and AOI on August 26, 2025. That agreement provided for the joint production in Egypt of autonomous UAVs capable of vertical takeoff and landing.

The HAMZA-1 UAVs were developed as part of the Türkiye-Egypt cooperation program and were first unveiled in December 2025 at the EDEX 2025 international defense exhibition in Cairo.
