Belarus Bans Two Cognac Brands, Including Armenian Seven-Year-Old Brandy

Belarus has banned the sale of two cognac products, including Armenia’s seven-year-old ARAME, over violations of food safety and product quality regulations.

The second product affected by the ban is Georgia’s Pogreb Shio, according to Sputnik Armenia.

The products reportedly fail to meet the Customs Union’s technical regulations on food safety, product labeling and the general technical requirements for cognac.

The latest decision follows earlier sales bans on two other Armenian cognac products in Belarus.

These included the eight-year-old Yerevan 2800, produced by Armenia’s MAP CJSC, and the six-year-old Armenian Cognac under the Shahnazaryan brand.
