Minister: Azerbaijani Gasoline Helps Keep Armenia’s Fuel Prices in Check

Fuel prices in Armenia have risen only slightly, while gasoline prices have surged sharply around the world, Armenia’s Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan said.

“If there were no alternatives, particularly Azerbaijani gasoline, the price of gasoline would have risen just as sharply as it did on international markets. Compared with them, we are one of the countries in the world where prices have increased the least. Overall, gasoline prices have risen sharply worldwide. We purchased gasoline from Azerbaijan so that its price would increase by a percentage, rather than several times,” the Armenian economy minister said, according to Sputnik Armenia.

Papoyan said the same situation applies to liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).
