On September 17, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva inspected the conservation work carried out at the Pir Omar Sultan shrine in Shamakhi.

Azerbaijan has also expanded its luxury tourism offering with the opening of the Meysari Grand Hotel & SPA in Shamakhi, with President Aliyev and Mehriban Aliyeva attending the inauguration, according to Azertac.

President Aliyev and Mehriban Aliyeva viewed the Nasimi Gardens complex in Shamakhi.

During the visit, Ilham Aliyev and Mehriban Aliyeva paid their respects at the monument to national leader Heydar Aliyev in central Shamakhi.
