Six Countries Sign Deal to Expand CASCA+ Transport Corridor

Railway authorities from Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Georgia and Türkiye have signed a six-party protocol to further develop the international multimodal CASCA+ transport route.

The agreement was signed following a meeting of the six countries’ railway administration heads held in Tashkent on October 7-8, according to Report.

The discussions focused on increasing freight volumes along the route, introducing competitive tariffs for refrigerated container shipments, ensuring a regular supply of container flatcars throughout the corridor and reducing container dwell times at ports.

The protocol formalizes the agreements reached and establishes priority areas for further cooperation among the participating countries.
