The official website of the US Congress has published the text of a bill proposing the removal of restrictions on aid to Azerbaijan.
The document highlights that since gaining independence, the Republic of Azerbaijan has been a reliable ally of the US and its partners, cooperating in both military and civilian spheres, The Caspian Post reports via the website of the US Congress.
It emphasizes that Azerbaijan has demonstrated a commitment to peace and stability in the South Caucasus, with its borders and territorial integrity secured by a peace agreement with Armenia.
Under the bill, Section 907 of the Freedom Support Act would be repealed, along with related provisions in the law connected to this amendment.
The bill was introduced to Congress on December 9 by Democratic Representative Anna Paulina Luna.
