Central Asia, Azerbaijan Advance Regional Cooperation in Turkmenbashi

Kazakh Foreign Minister Mukhtar Tileuberdi joined a meeting of foreign ministers from Central Asia and Azerbaijan in Turkmenbashi, Turkmenistan, on October 7.

The ministers discussed ways to expand cooperation under the Consultative Meetings framework and exchanged views on key regional and international issues, Qazinform reports.

Tileuberdi highlighted the progress made since the first summit in 2018, saying political dialogue had helped strengthen mutual trust and bring Central Asian countries and Azerbaijan closer together.

The Kazakh foreign minister said that cooperation has expanded across trade, industry, energy, transport, logistics and digital technologies, driven by the political will of the countries’ leaders.

The meeting concluded with the ministers approving the draft agenda and outcome documents for the Eighth Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and Azerbaijan.

The summit is scheduled to take place in Turkmenbashi on October 8.
