Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan Discuss Strengthening Cultural, Film Industry Cooperation

Kyrgyzstan's Minister of Culture, Information, Sports, and Youth Policy, Altynbek Maksutov, met with his Uzbek counterpart, Ozodbel Nazarbekov, to explore ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in the cultural sector.

According to the Ministry of Culture of Kyrgyzstan, the meeting focused on several key areas, including the prospects for joint projects in the film industry that could serve as a cultural bridge between the two nations, The Caspian Post reports citing, Kyrgyz media.

Special attention was paid to the success of the Kyrgyz "Beyish enenin tamaninda" movie (Paradise under the feet of mothers), which aroused great interest and a full house among viewers in Uzbekistan.

In addition, the topic of reconstruction of ancient cities was raised as an important element of preserving the common historical and cultural heritage.

The parties expressed interest in sharing experience in the development of theaters, libraries and other cultural institutions, which will strengthen professional ties between representatives of cultural communities of the two countries.

One of the significant outcomes of the meeting was the discussion of the Days of Culture of Uzbekistan in Kyrgyzstan, which are planned to be organized in 2025. This project will be an important step in bringing the two peoples closer together and popularizing their rich cultural heritage.
