In the January-March period of this year, 6,206 thousand tons of oil were transported through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline, which is a 9.81% decrease compared to the previous year.
During the reporting period, BTC accounted for 76.9% of the transportation through Azerbaijan's main oil pipelines, according to the State Statistics Committee, The Caspian Post reports, citing local media.
During the reporting period, 82.3% or 5,109.6 thousand tons of oil transported through the BTC pipeline was produced in Azerbaijan (a 10.8% decrease), while 17.7% or 1,096.4 thousand tons (a 4.9% decrease) came from Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan.
It should be noted that last year, 36,306.2 thousand tons of oil were transported through oil pipelines in Azerbaijan, which is a 6.3% decrease compared to the previous year. 74.9% of the transportation was carried out through BTC, with 27,179.2 thousand tons of oil being transported through this pipeline, representing a 7.8% decrease year-on-year.
During the reporting period, 84.8% or 23,056.9 thousand tons of the oil transported through the BTC pipeline was produced in Azerbaijan (a 4.6% decrease), while 15.2% or 4,122.3 thousand tons (a 22.2% decrease) came from Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan.
