Russia Becomes Uzbekistan’s Second-Biggest Trade Partner in 2024
The countries are currently discussing issues of cooperation in the scientific and educational areas, the prospects of Russian companies’ participation in purchases within projects for multilateral development banks.

Russia has emerged as Uzbekistan's second-largest trade partner in the first nine months of 2024, with an 18% share of the trade and a turnover of $7.5 billion, according to the Russian Economic Development Ministry.
"Positive dynamics in the two countries’ mutual trade is observed. In nine months of 2024, Russia took the second place in Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover with an 18-percent share, while trade turnover between Russia and Uzbekistan reached $7.5 bln, up by 9.8%," the statement reads, The Caspian Post reports, citing Russian media.
The countries are currently discussing issues of cooperation in the scientific and educational areas, the prospects of Russian companies’ participation in purchases within projects for multilateral development banks, as well as the implementation of the project to organize fast-tracked railway transportation Agroexpress, according to the ministry.
