Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia and Azerbaijan are engaged in active dialogue on expanding cooperation in the energy sector.

He made the remarks while commenting on speeches delivered by participants at the 8th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF), The Caspian Post reports, citing AZERTAC.

Putin described Azerbaijan as a stable and reliable partner in the energy sector, saying Moscow and Baku were discussing opportunities to expand cooperation and had considerable potential for joint efforts.

Commenting on Russian gas exports to Türkiye, Putin stressed that supplies had reached 30 billion cubic metres, adding that Moscow does not view Azerbaijan as a rival in the Turkish gas market.

“Of course, this is significantly more than the volume supplied by Azerbaijan. However, we do not view each other as competitors. On the contrary, we are ready to cooperate,” Putin emphasized.
