Russia’s pipeline gas deliveries to Türkiye declined by 17% year-on-year in January-August 2026, according to TASS calculations based on Eurostat data.
Eurostat figures, which are almost fully consistent with data from Türkiye’s Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK), show that Türkiye imported 723 million cubic meters of Russian gas through the TurkStream and Blue Stream pipelines in August, The Caspian Post reports, citing TASS.
In total, Russian pipeline gas supplies to Türkiye amounted to 12.1 billion cubic meters during the first eight months of 2026, marking a 16.7% decrease.
TASS previously reported that Russia’s pipeline gas supplies to Türkiye totaled 21.16 billion cubic meters in 2025, representing a 0.4% increase.
Russia delivers gas to Türkiye via two pipelines running across the Black Sea. Blue Stream became operational in early 2003 and has an annual design capacity of 16 billion cubic meters, with a total length of 1,213 kilometers.
The TurkStream export gas pipeline comprises two strings. One is intended to supply Turkish consumers, while the other delivers gas to countries in Southern and Southeastern Europe. TurkStream has a combined annual capacity of 31.5 billion cubic meters and started operating in January 2020.
