Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has received Rovshan Najaf, head of Azerbaijan’s State Oil Company (SOCAR), and Giovanni Cristofoli, Senior Vice President of British Petroleum (BP), who are visiting Uzbekistan to attend a meeting of the Council of Foreign Investors in the Fuel and Energy Sector.

The parties expressed satisfaction with the successful cooperation established with these leading energy companies, The Caspian Post reports, citing Uza.uz.

The meeting focused on further practical steps to develop hydrocarbon fields on the Ustyurt Plateau. BP’s participation in this major project was highly appreciated.

The sides also emphasized the importance of advancing new oil and gas projects, establishing long-term supply arrangements, and developing a network for the sale of oil and petroleum products.
