Iranian security forces have arrested six members of the Sunni Baloch militant group Jaish al-Adl (“Army for Justice”) during a joint operation in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan.
The arrests were made as part of an investigation into the killing of two law enforcement officers, according to Tasnim News Agency.
During searches of several residential properties in the Bampur area, security forces seized three Kalashnikov rifles, six magazines, more than 170 rounds of ammunition of various calibers, and a pistol with ammunition.
A regional security official said the agencies would continue coordinated efforts to identify individuals involved in anti-government groups, with the stated aim of maintaining security in Iran’s border areas.
