Iran has begun construction of a new underground facility believed to be linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) near the city of Karaj in northern Iran, according to satellite imagery analysis.

Satellite intelligence company Soar Atlas reported the development, citing imagery from US-based spatial intelligence firm Vantor, Soar Atlas reports.

According to the analysis, construction work at the site began around May 21. The emerging complex is believed to have been designed to accommodate strategic IRGC infrastructure.
