Iran could deploy a new type of missile in the coming days, according to General Ali Fadavi, deputy commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

Speaking on Iranian state television IRIB, Fadavi said the missiles are launched from underwater and travel at speeds of about 100 metres per second, The Caspian Post reports.

He suggested that Tehran may use the weapons in future retaliatory operations.
