Iran is engaged in a full-scale war but will continue negotiations while defending the rights and interests of its people from a position of strength, President Masoud Pezeshkian said Wednesday.

Speaking at a cabinet meeting, Pezeshkian thanked managers and workers in the industrial and production sectors for their efforts, saying their work had allowed complex facilities in industry, oil, energy and other areas to be restored quickly, The Caspian Post reports, citing IRNA.

He also commended the Central Bank, the Economy Ministry, the Planning and Budget Organization, as well as the ministries overseeing agriculture, industry, energy and oil, for their efforts to manage the situation and counter pressure.

The president said protecting livelihoods, employment and production must remain the main priorities for government ministers and officials. He stressed the importance of avoiding disruptions to production, including power and energy cuts, saying Iran must not allow the production process to be damaged.

Pezeshkian also called for broader and stronger multilateral engagement with neighboring countries, noting that Tehran was negotiating with them to help address some of Iran’s needs.

At the same time, he stressed that relying on domestic capabilities, national solidarity and cooperation would remain the country’s main approach.
