Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said Iran and Oman are continuing discussions aimed at ensuring the safe movement of vessels through the Strait of Hormuz, with negotiations focused on establishing designated inbound and outbound shipping lanes, The Caspian Post reports, citing Al Jazeera.
Baghaei said the talks have “been assessed positively at both the technical and political levels” as Iran works to develop the necessary “mechanisms” for managing maritime traffic through the strategic waterway.
