The spokesperson for Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters has said that Tehran will never allow the United States to interfere in the management of the Strait of Hormuz, warning Persian Gulf countries that cooperation with Washington would be considered an act of war against Iran.

Colonel Ebrahim Zolfaqari said on Monday that US actions in the waterway had created serious risks for the entire region, The Caspian Post reports, citing IRNA.

“America’s repeated adventurism and malicious actions aimed at interfering in the management of the Strait of Hormuz have seriously threatened regional security, international trade, and the movement of oil tankers and commercial vessels,” he said.

He added that the involvement and cooperation of some regional countries had unfortunately increased the possibility of war spreading throughout the region.

“Therefore, it is declared that, following previous warnings, we will not under any circumstances allow the United States to interfere in the management of the Strait of Hormuz, and we will not permit such interference in the future,” Zolfaqari said.

Addressing the consequences of unauthorized US naval operations in the region, he said Iran’s Armed Forces would respond forcefully.

“The Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran will respond firmly to any disruption or insecurity caused to commercial vessels and oil tankers by the aggressive and piratical American army operating outside Iran’s designated route and without authorization from the Armed Forces,” he said.

Zolfaqari added that recent operations carried out by the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps and the Army demonstrated Iran’s commitment to responding to such actions.

He also issued a separate warning to regional countries.
