Iran has not closed the Strait of Hormuz, Iran's Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Mucteba Demircilu said during a press conference held at the embassy, The Caspian Post reports, local media.

"Iran manages the movement in that area. Some tankers using this route have been subjected to measures due to violating the rules. However, if Iran's interests require it, steps could be taken to close the movement," the ambassador stated.
