RAF Fairford, a Royal Air Force base in the United Kingdom used by the US military, has faced security threats linked to Iran.

The US administration considers the threats part of preparations for possible attacks targeting American military personnel and aircraft at the base, according to AP.

Amid the security concerns, the Pentagon relocated its strategic bombers from RAF Fairford.

British law enforcement authorities have also linked a recently uncovered plot to Tehran, although investigators have not publicly disclosed details of the case.

RAF Fairford is regularly used by the US Air Force for strategic bomber deployments and other military operations in Europe. The reported security concerns come amid heightened tensions between Washington and Tehran.
