The U.S. Department of Defense announced on X that U.S. forces have boarded an oil tanker linked to Iran.
The stateless vessel M/T Tifani, which has been sanctioned by the US for smuggling Iranian crude oil, was reportedly boarded in the Indian Ocean last night, The Caspian Post reports, citing foreign media.
"International waters are not a haven for sanctioned vessels," the Department of Defense wrote.
The Pentagon warned of more actions against sanctioned ships that "provide material support to Iran."
