The United States has proposed that Iran agree to a 20-year moratorium on uranium enrichment during negotiations held in Islamabad, according to sources, The Caspian Post reports, citing Axios.
In response to this proposal, Tehran submitted a counterproposal suggesting a freeze on uranium enrichment for a period of less than 10 years, the sources said.
A source within the US administration stated that despite the differences in positions, both sides remain engaged in the negotiation process and are continuing their efforts in an attempt to reach a potential agreement.
