EBRD Provides €25M Loan for Orzax Food Plant in Kazakhstan

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is providing a loan of up to 25 million euros to Orzax Central Asia, a new subsidiary of Orzax Türkiye, to build and operate a greenfield food supplement production facility in the Turkistan region of Kazakhstan.

The facility will be Orzax Türkiye’s first international production base, supporting the company’s growth strategy, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

Once operational, it will supply customers across Asia and Eastern Europe, positioning Kazakhstan as a regional hub for high-quality food supplements.

By expanding local production of certified supplements, the project aims to improve access to affordable nutrition, support healthier diets, and reduce the burden on public health systems in Kazakhstan and the wider region.

Kazakhstan currently relies heavily on imports for processed foods and supplements, limiting innovation, workforce development, and the full potential of local agricultural resources. The new plant addresses this dependence and creates a platform for knowledge transfer and skills development, bringing international expertise to the local workforce and generating advanced manufacturing jobs.

The EBRD has invested over 10.2 billion euros in Kazakhstan across 342 projects, primarily supporting private entrepreneurship, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable economic growth in the region.
