Kazakhstan has delivered thousands of tons of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan, including essential food and non-food items.
The shipment, consisting of 36 wagons, was officially handed over to officials of the Islamic Emirate at Hairatan port, The Caspian Post reports citing foreign media.
During the handover ceremony, Mawlavi Noor-ul-Hadi Abu Idris, deputy governor of Balkh province, expressed appreciation to Kazakhstan and urged international organizations and other nations to support the Afghan people. He emphasized the importance of cooperation, especially in light of the recent return of Afghan refugees from Pakistan and Iran. Abu Idris called for these countries to adhere to international standards in their treatment of returning refugees.
Gaziz Akbasov, Charge d’Affaires of the Kazakh Embassy in Kabul, highlighted that this aid is part of Kazakhstan’s ongoing commitment to assist Afghanistan. The shipment included 1,000 tons of flour, over 1,000 tons of rice, 1,000 liters of oil, as well as blankets and tents.
The delivery marks yet another chapter in Kazakhstan’s humanitarian outreach, reinforcing the need for international solidarity in addressing the challenges faced by the Afghan population.
