Oman’s Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said will pay a state visit to Kazakhstan on October 5-6 at the invitation of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
The two leaders are expected to hold high-level talks focused on strengthening political dialogue and expanding trade, economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian cooperation, Tengrinews.kz reports.
Tokayev and Sultan Haitham will also take part in the Kazakh-Omani Business Forum, which is expected to bring together representatives of the two countries’ business communities.
Meanwhile, Omani flags have already appeared on the streets of Astana ahead of the sultan’s arrival.
The visit comes after Sultan Haitham accepted Tokayev’s invitation to make a state visit to Kazakhstan.
Kazakhstan’s State Security Service previously warned residents and visitors that temporary traffic restrictions would be introduced on certain streets in Astana on October 5-6 due to a number of international political events.
