Turkish FM and UN Relief Chief Meet in Ankara

On Wednesday, Türkiye's Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held a meeting with Tom Fletcher, the UN's humanitarian chief, according to the Turkish Foreign Ministry.

The meeting took place in Ankara, the ministry stated on the Turkish social media platform NSosyal, The Caspian Post reports, citing Anadolu agency.

"Another strong exchange with Foreign Minister @HakanFidan. Türkiye is a pivotal mediator across the region and beyond," Fletcher said on US social media company X.

He added: "We also discussed our plans to save 87m lives in 2026."
