Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan reviewed the outcomes of 2024 and discussed upcoming events for 2025.
The issues were discussed at a meeting of Beibut Atamkulov, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan, and Bakhtiyor Saidov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, on January 20, the press service of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry says.
The sides hailed positive dynamics of the bilateral relations and importance of a close political dialogue between the heads of state and expressed readiness for further deepening of the ties based on mutual trust and friendship.
Special attention was given to the issues of enhancing trade, strengthening the economic interaction, expansion of cooperation in energy sector and boosting transport interconnectivity.
The parties highlighted the importance of developing trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian and transport interaction as the key elements in strengthening regional cooperation.
The issue of interregional ties strengthening was also on the meeting agenda. The diplomats agreed on the importance of direct interaction between the two countries’ regions, having emphasized successful organization of the Interregional Cooperation Forum in October 2024 in Samarkand.
At the end of the meeting, the sides confirmed their commitment to further enhancement of cooperation in the spirit of true mutual understanding and alliance.
Earlier, it was reported that Uzbekistan's Oliy Majlis (Parliament) approved a bill in its third reading to join the Eurasian Development Bank.
