The Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) quoted General Fire Force spokesman Brig. Gen. Mohammed al-Gharib as saying the blaze had been fully extinguished. Specialized teams have begun cooling operations and an investigation into the cause of the fire, he added.

In a separate incident, Kuwait’s Interior Ministry said two officers from the General Directorate of Land Border Security were killed while performing their duties early Sunday.

The ministry said the two officers died while carrying out security duties, without providing further details.

Separately, Kuwait’s Defense Ministry said air defense systems intercepted and destroyed seven Iranian drones in various areas in the north and south of the country on Sunday morning. The ministry did not report any damage.
