The building housing the Lithuanian embassy and a central ambulance depot were damaged during a major Russian missile and drone attack on Kyiv on Aug. 1, which also severely affected the city’s emergency medical fleet.

According to city authorities, strikes hit the territory of the Kyivmedspetstrans municipal medical transport organization twice, Kyiv Post reported.

While no casualties were reported at the facility, preliminary information indicates that four buildings were partially destroyed and other premises were damaged.

The attack burned five ambulances and damaged another 20 vehicles that serviced healthcare facilities across Kyiv.

Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha stated that the Lithuanian embassy building also suffered minor damage during the bombardment, but no staff members were injured.

Sybiha expressed solidarity with Lithuania and offered assistance. “Russian terror spares no one and respects no international norms, including the provisions of the Vienna Convention,” he wrote on X, adding that the strikes can only be stopped with sufficient air defense capabilities.
