Tornado in Türkiye’s Antalya Kills Four Construction Workers

Four construction workers have died after a tornado struck Türkiye’s southern province of Antalya, Governor Hulusi Şahin has confirmed.

The incident occurred in the Kepez district, where powerful winds destroyed two residential container units at a construction site and caused a crane to collapse, according to TRT Haber.

“We encountered a tornado that completely destroyed two containers,” Şahin said.

Two workers died at the scene, while two others succumbed to their injuries in hospital. Another person was injured.

All four victims and the injured person were Turkish citizens.

The incident came after meteorologists issued storm warnings for several regions of Türkiye, including Antalya, a popular Mediterranean tourist destination.
