Türkiye’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan is attending the G20 foreign ministers’ meeting in Atlanta, US, where officials are discussing geopolitical tensions, energy security and regional stability.

Fidan has already begun his official program at the meeting, according to TRT Haber.

The Turkish foreign minister is scheduled to speak at two sessions focusing on geopolitical tensions and energy security.

He is expected to outline Ankara’s position on resolving regional conflicts and ensuring the stability of energy corridors.

Fidan is also scheduled to hold bilateral talks on the sidelines of the meeting with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Germany's Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs Johann Wadephul, and representatives of the United Kingdom, Indonesia and Japan.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has also arrived in Atlanta to participate in the G20 meeting.

The gathering is being held at the Loews Atlanta Hotel in the city center.

For Atlanta, the meeting marks its first experience hosting an international event of this scale under the G20, G7 or NATO formats.

The foreign ministers’ meeting will conclude this year’s series of G20 ministerial gatherings and mark the final stage of the United States’ presidency of the group.

The presidency will culminate in the G20 leaders’ summit, scheduled for December 14-15 in Miami, where the year’s achievements and key priorities will be reviewed.

The Atlanta meeting provides an opportunity for foreign ministers to discuss shared international challenges and prepare for the leaders’ summit in December.
