Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has called for a winter air defense package to help protect Ukraine from continued Russian missile attacks.

Speaking at the Coalition of the Willing summit in Kyiv, Zelenskyy said Russia continues to launch attacks using ballistic missiles and stressed the urgent need to strengthen Ukraine’s air defenses ahead of winter, according to NHK World.

“Russia continues its attacks and ballistic missiles. Yesterday we spoke about it with details. Today we will continue, and so we need to make sure that the winter package of air defense will be in Ukraine, and we need winter package of Patriot missiles,” Zelenskyy said.

The Ukrainian president’s call focuses on securing additional air defense capabilities, including Patriot missile systems, as Kyiv prepares for the winter months.

Zelenskyy urged partners to maintain support for Ukraine’s air defense as Russian missile attacks continue.
