Rzabek Alibayov Mansion Stands as a Timeless Treasure, Preserving the Spirit of Its Era

The Rzabek Alibayov Mansion is a distinctive architectural landmark that remarkably retains the essence of its historical period.

Located at the intersection of Suleyman Taghizada and Rza Guliyev streets, this architectural gem belonged to Rzabek Alibayov, a representative of a noble family, The Caspian Post reports citing Azertac.

While studying in St. Petersburg, Alibayov met architect Nikolay Dmitrievich Prokofyev and entrusted him with the design of his personal mansion in Baku. So in 1903, a three-story building in a classical style was built.

The Baku limestone used in the construction of the mansion is particularly noteworthy - this stone was used not only as a building material, but also as a decorative element.

However, the main attraction of the building is its interior - a spacious entrance hall decorated with patterned ceilings, souvenirs and frescoes that have retained their beauty over the years.

There is also an interesting theory: Alibayov, who was married to a woman from the lineage of the Lankaran Khan, allegedly had the same mansion built in Lankaran as in Baku...
