Egypt will introduce updated entry requirements for Uzbek citizens traveling to the country starting November 1, 2026, including advance visa requirements, restrictions on independent travel and proof of sufficient funds, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Cairo said.
According to information obtained through diplomatic channels, Uzbek citizens will need to secure an entry visa in advance through Egyptian diplomatic missions, The Caspian Post reports, citing UzDaily.
Tourist trips to Egypt will have to be arranged through authorized tour operators.
Uzbek citizens under the age of 40 traveling to Egypt will be required to be accompanied by close relatives, including parents, a spouse or children. Families must have at least $5,000 in cash for the duration of their stay.
Those over 40 who travel independently must carry at least $3,000 in cash.
Upon arrival in Egypt, travelers will be required to present confirmation of a hotel reservation, mobile communications details and evidence of sufficient financial means.
The new rules also stipulate that tourists will not be allowed to apply to change their tourist visa to another type of visa while in Egypt.
People who fail to provide all required documents and information may be refused entry and returned on the airline they used to arrive in Egypt.
The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Cairo has urged citizens to consider the new requirements when planning trips to Egypt.
