Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has met with Alexander Dyukov, Chairman of the Management Board of Gazprom Neft company, to explore opportunities for enhancing collaboration in the oil and gas sector.
The talks emphasized the advancement of mutually beneficial partnerships guided by the established “roadmap” for cooperation, The Caspian Post reports via local media.
Key areas of joint interest included geological exploration, development of hard-to-recover reserves, industry digitalization, and the training of qualified personnel.
In autumn 2023, Gazprom Neft and Uzbekneftegaz signed an agreement that committed the Russian company to support the optimization of drilling operations at Uzbekistan’s oil fields. Recently, Noyabrskneftegaz, a Gazprom Neft subsidiary, completed ahead of schedule the construction of a production well at the Shurtan field.
Formerly known as Sibneft, Gazprom Neft ranks as the third-largest oil processing company in Russia’s oil and gas industry.
