Uzbekistan plans to strengthen its diplomatic presence in the US by opening new consulates, according to a decree signed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The Foreign Ministry has been tasked with studying the establishment of additional consular offices across the US within a month, The Caspian Post informs via Uzbek media.

New consulates will prioritize staffing specialists to engage with key economic hubs and serve regions with significant Uzbek diaspora communities, including Philadelphia, Chicago, Orlando, and Seattle.

In parallel, the Ministry of Investments, Industry, and Trade, together with the Foreign Ministry, will begin negotiations with US authorities on a bilateral Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement, aiming to boost economic and trade ties between the two nations.
