Armenia, Iran Discuss Bilateral Ties, Regional Situation

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with a delegation led by Iranian Vice President Seyed Hamid Pourmohammadi, to discuss regional stability and the expansion of bilateral cooperation.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office, Pashinyan welcomed the Iranian vice president’s visit to Armenia and emphasized the importance of strengthening peace and stability in the region, The Caspian Post reports, citing Armenian media.

He expressed confidence that these efforts would contribute to the continued development of relations and cooperation across the region.

Pourmohammadi conveyed the warm greetings of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to Pashinyan and thanked the Armenian government for its stance and humanitarian support provided to Iran during a difficult period.

The two sides discussed the progress of projects aimed at improving Armenia-Iran border infrastructure. The talks focused on the construction of a second bridge and a new terminal, the further development of customs cooperation, and issues related to customs procedures.

Both parties highlighted the importance of expanding cooperation in the energy sector.

They also discussed joint road construction projects and measures to further develop cooperation in agriculture, mining, infrastructure and other fields.

The sides exchanged views on the process of unblocking regional transport routes and the new opportunities it could create.

At the end of the meeting, Prime Minister Pashinyan conveyed his warm greetings to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.
