Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said his plane landed in Frankfurt rather than Wiesbaden, joking that he had “mixed up the plane.”

“We landed not in Wiesbaden, but in Frankfurt,” Pashinyan said.

“I mixed up the plane,” he added, according to aysor.am.

Pashinyan had previously announced that he was traveling to Wiesbaden, Germany, for a working visit.

The Armenian prime minister is scheduled to receive the Hessian Peace Prize for his efforts to promote peace in the South Caucasus.

Responding to media questions about the ownership of the aircraft he used to travel to Germany, Pashinyan continued in a satirical tone.

“In response to media questions related to the three-headed party of war about who owns the plane on which I flew to Germany today, I answer: It is my private plane. Last week, I accidentally learned that my grandfather had left me an inheritance. We are now trying to sort out the documents,” Pashinyan said.

“I consider any attempt to find out this information a political vendetta, a gross violation of human rights and a funeral for democracy,” he added.
