Armenian PM: Washington Accords to Benefit the Entire International Community

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has emphasized the importance of the US-brokered joint declaration signed with Azerbaijan, highlighting its significance not only for the region but for the broader international community. He described the agreement as a victory for all parties involved.

In an interview with Fox News, Pashinyan said that the Armenian-Azerbaijani joint declaration signed in the US capital “contains quite tangible benefits” for regional countries, as well as the entire international community, The Caspian Post reports citing foreign media.

"I think yesterday's agreement and declaration contains quite tangible benefits for Iran and for Russia as well. Because in case and when this agreement will be implemented, for example, Iran would have access through railway from Persian Gulf to the Black Sea. And Russia and Iran will have opportunity to have railway connection between two countries. And I mean that, yes, if we will be concentrated on economic side of this agreement, not only Armenia, Azerbaijan, United States, but Turkiye, but Russia and Iran will have very important, very tangible benefits and actually unprecedented because from South Caucasus now we have no railway connecting Iran with Russia. So I think it is very important agreement that could bring quite a lot of benefits for all countries and by the way for the whole international community, for international stability and security as well. So it is, you know, I mentioned already that we have a project named Crossroads of Peace and really this agreement can be a kind of crossroads of cooperation, crossroads of peace, and that is our goal. We don't want to provoke some arguments, we don't want to trigger tension, etc. Our goal is to have stability, peace, sustainable development, economic and political cooperation. And I think yesterday's declaration is very important and very convenient platform for that," Pashinyan told Fox News a day after the Washington accords were signed.
